Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Labor and
Delivery Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour day shift,
Days-1800-0630, 3x12 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Experience: One year of experience preferred License: State RN
license or RN license from a participating state in the NLC -
Required Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life
Support (BLS) - Required Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Certification - Required Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
Certification/or Association of Women's Health, Obstetrics, and
Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Certification - Required Must-Have:
Proficiency in therapeutic interventions, wound care, and patient
care Experience with electronic medical records and neonatal
resuscitation Job Description: - Assess patients' physical,
psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs through observation,
interviews, and review of medical records and clinical data. -
Evaluate patient responses and intervene to ensure optimal patient
outcomes. - Develop and implement patient care plans and observe
outcomes based on nursing standards in collaboration with the
interdisciplinary team. - Demonstrate competency in
therapeutic/diagnostic interventions, including IVs, incision/wound
care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen
collections. - Promote, advocate, and collaborate to protect
health, safety, and rights of each patient. - Provide patient and
family education through assessment of learning readiness, needs,
and ability; evaluate effectiveness of teaching. - Recognize the
patient or designee as a full partner in providing compassionate
care, respecting preferences, values, and needs. - Provide
relationship-based care, striving to understand what is most
important to individuals and engaging them in all care aspects. -
Deliver care with respect for cultural differences and human
diversity. - Delegate to non-RN personnel per state board of
nursing and hospital policy. - Use time, personnel, equipment, and
supplies effectively for high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Serve as a professional role model, demonstrating ethical, legal,
and professional nursing processes. - Manage resources and patient
flow by matching nursing competencies with individual and unit
needs. - Use standards of care, hospital policies, procedures, and
regulatory guidelines to guide practice. - Function effectively
within interprofessional teams, fostering open communication,
mutual respect, and shared decision-making for quality patient
care. - Precept/mentor new staff or nursing students as needed. -
Seek learning opportunities and continuing education to maintain
skills and competence. - Maintain professional records
demonstrating competence and lifelong learning. - Evaluate personal
integrity and nursing practice in relation to professional
standards, guidelines, statutes, rules, and regulations. - Pursue
goals identified during evaluations. - Demonstrate commitment
through participation in hospital and unit-based meetings. -
Understand the value of measurement and importance of continuous
quality improvement data. - Use quality measures to enhance
performance and accountability for outcomes, experiences, and care
safety. - Participate in unit-based quality improvement,
evidence-based practice, and research activities. - Use current
healthcare research findings and evidence to expand clinical
knowledge and enhance role performance.
