  • Job Details
  • Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts and vascular.
  • May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity.
  • Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to ALARA.
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepares patient for exam and provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure.
  • Assists the patient during exam and positions the patient.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/document unusual occurrences.
  • Facilitates smooth patient flow, scheduling and optimal use of equipment/resources.
  • Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students and hospital staff.
  • Assists with patient transport as needed.
  • Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.
  • Maintains technical operation of equipment and notifies service when necessary.
  • Maintains clean work area for employees and patients.
    • Job Requirements
    • One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred.
    • Ability to provide on-call coverage outside of standard scheduled hours per department and/or facility policy.
    • Maintains compliance with all State, Federal, accreditation and hospital regulations and standards.
      • Additional Details
      • Floating may be required to any Centura location within sixty (60) miles of the original assignment location or Centura-identified float zone.
      • Float assignments may include duties outside of original assignment job requirements in accordance with Centura policy.
